ATLANTIC SALMON

La cache outfitters is proud to present in addition to our currents offerings, guided fly fishing excursions for Atlantic Salmon. Our approach as with migratory birds is to remain mobile moving from river to river in order to target the fresh fish entering the river system for the best odds of hooking into an early summer bright. Our favorite rivers include; the Matapédia, Matane, Bonaventure and the Grand Cascapedia. Our guides are similarly experienced with the Gouffre river, with close proximity to Quebec City, in Baie-Saint-Paul-Charlevoix.

The month of June marks the return of the first big reproducing females, which are sought after by all who pursue Atlantic Salmon, are notoriously hard to target. Although the numbers of fish remain low at this time, the rewards can be extraordinary, due to the first fish that enter the river are the largest of the season. As of the second week in June these big fish have entered the rivers and are ready to eat a well presented fly.

In certain sectors and rivers of the Baie de Chaleurs we work in partnership with Guide-coop, David Bishop, and Falls Gully Outfitters. Contact us today to plan your next Atlantic Salmon adventure.

Our packages include the necessary equipment and flies to pursue these once in a lifetime early season monsters. Bring your own gear or take advantage of new equipment from Loop Tackle perfect for the beginner to experienced angler. Let our experienced guide team help you plan your next trip to ensure you enjoy your next Atlantic Salmon fishing adventure both on and off the water!

  • A typical day begins at 7:00 and lasts an average of 12 hours.
  • We prioritize sight fishing and wade unless the water conditions dictate otherwise.
  • Wet fly fishing is practiced throughout the season, although we consider July and August as being prime time for dry flies.
